I have finally decided to start selling my items on ebay and one Item I really wanted to finish is an awesome quilt pattern from Meme's Quilts. I had received alot of compliments on this and hope it can find a home and get finished for the holiday season or gift giving.

Decided to finish a few more projects from the garage this past weekend. Hubby does my framing for me and does a great job. Are men more difficult to buy gifts for than women? Yeah sure they are, unless you lucky like me to have men that love wildlife, fishing, boating, hunting and being a grandpa. Turkeys in the Backyard

This morning my husband and I went out the front door and in the backyard we saw these amazing wild turkeys. Of course, we ran back in the house, grabbed the camera and Galen snuck downstairs and out the door to take a few snapshots. Our son and son in law are avid turkey hunters and Galen has taken a liking to the fall hunt too, if the weather has cooled down. The boys prefer Bow Hunting, galen prefers his turkey shotgun. I myself find that embroidering turkey designs are a real challenge, with so many colors, I appreciate seeing the real thing and refer to them often for help when stitching out my wildlife animals. I do the same with deer designs, I run downstairs and at the head of the stairs is Galens greatest whitetail hanging there. I study the colors well and enjoy when I can take time to embroider wildlife.

FFA T-Shirt Quilt

Our DIL recently graduated with a 4 year bachelor degree in Agriculture Science. She has been in FFA since a little girl. Along the way she collected and saved her t-shirts. We were going to learn how to make T-shirts quilts together but I couldn't wait for her and the busy schedule she has. I decided to start the quilt without her and create a wonderful surprise for her graduation party.

WOW what a surprise it was. Everyone kept the secret very well, she had no idea and the quilt turned out so very nice. A friend of mine Debra Ward quilted it for me and did a fantastic job. More to come of these. We have about 5 quilts to make and I will take you through each journey along the way. I will finish these between my regular embroidery orders/business.

What a great way to share your memories-tshirt quilts are warm, can be hung on display, put in a quilt rack or laid out on a bed.

Let's get Creative-is a big statement. Our oldest grandson just celebrated his 7th birthday. We embroidered several shirts for him in the hunting/fishing theme and then made this adorable and unique wall-hanging. It was a hit- "Awesome Grandma". Purpose of this Letter: To help me stay out of jail and raise money for the MDA 2008 Fundraiser in St Joseph Missouri.

A warrant has been issued for the Arrest of Charlene Karger. She will be jailed on April 24, 2008 at 9:00 am if bail is not raised.

Bail has been set at $1600.00 and I have less than 30 days to raise money for my bail or the PADDYWAGON will be picking her up at work and she will spend the rest of her day in captivity at the local Stoney Creek Jail.

They are serving some great jailhouse Grub (oh my gosh- I hate grits and biscuits/gravy) and they tell me the hospitality is wonderful (handcuffs wonderful??) I don’t think so.

If everything goes as planned and we raise enough money- my time spent will be minimal and courtesy of local MDS officials, I will be escorted back to work in a Limo. The best part of my day will be that we together raised enough money to send 2 kids to the annual MDA Summer Camp.

Our Labrador Duke Pasted Away

Duke was a Fox Red Labrador Retriever. He was 7 1/2 years old and he passed away this past weekend unexpectedly. We miss him dearly.

Duke had a personality like the character Eyeore from Winnie the pooh. He was laid back and such a sweet boy.

We still have Lily Babe. She misses him too, especially at feeding time, she looks for his dish to try and steal his food. It never happened though- duke wouldn't let anyone take his food.

Duke joined our other family dogs in Puppy Heaven on Sunday February 10, 2008. Amy, was our Irish/English setter, Gus-our chocolate lab grandson and chubbles-was a rott/lab mix.

We miss them all but know they are all up in heaven having a great time together.

Granddaughters 3rd Birthday Gifts

Thought I would brag a little bit today. Our Granddaughter Laney turns 3 today. She loves the color pink. Pink Party, Pink undies, Pink dresses and Pink Dollies. One day she came over and grandma was working on her first raggedy doll and of course she asked if she could help me stuff her. Later she asked if she could have a doll and if I could make her a pink one. Of course said grandma and off we went into the sewing room to pick out the perfect pink fabric. This is my second doll I have made, my first one is still in the works as I needed to finish this one for the PINK Party that we are having. I made a matching purse, doll quilt, kitty and doll. I made these pillows for my Aunt Sheila. She means so much to me and is truly the greatest aunt/mother one would want to know. Her grandma, which was my great grandma, used to say these sayings all the time. They bring back memories and when we talk to each-other these phrases are often quoted. Once assembled, I soaked it in some great smelling grubby stain(coffee,tea,cinammon & concentrated oils). It truly looks like it came out of grandma's attic, but doesn't smell like it(LOL).

I am a huge fan of Raggedy Ann and Andy Designs. Stephanie from Heartstrings Embroidery has a great primstitch club, which of course I belong to. She features all sorts of Primitive designs and for sure includes Raggedy Ann. This pillow was made using her fonts for the lettering and both dolls too. I grubby stained the pillow and stuffed it full of cluster stuffing.

Hedda Hare Easter Basket

Hedda Hare is another great easter basket I made using those adorable eggs, I did over cook that one egg. She sure smells awesome though and oh so cute. I think she needs some of those carrots and she'll be good to go. She will be for sale after I dress her up a bit.

Here is a Easter Centerpiece I recently stitched up, soaked and stuffed. This item was recently sold on my Ebay. Those eggs are the most adorable eggs I have ever made. How bout that carrot too- wow is all I can say. These eggs are also machined embroidered. The designs are from Seneca Ponds Graphics and the designs were digitized by Heartstrings Embroidery. Two very talented ladies.

Personalized Micro Fiber Rooster Towel

Here is a towel that I personalized for my mother. She has her kitchen decorated with Roosters and this waffle weave towel was just perfect to embroider for her. She loves it and proudly hangs it up and uses it too. Most of the towels that I embroider are usable and washable. My tea-stained items I do not recommend washing as the color and scent will fade.

Grandma's Bumble Bee's Customized T-shirt

Here is one for myself of course-again with a summer theme- bumble bee's. The kids get a kick out this shirt cause grandma runs ragged when she see's a bee. I am allergic to them also. The wasps are the worst. Grandma becomes somewhat of a hermit when the heat is on and they hang around. I have alot of fun with these designs- you can too, just email me with your ideas. I am also able to do just one shirt. Some places want bulk and large quantities, I like to service the smaller more one on one customers and small businesses out there wanting to get some advertisements without having to spend a fortune.

Our 7th grandchild was born on April 9th. Grandma was busy sewing gifts for the baby shower. These were the hit of the party and so much fun to make. I got the pattern from perfect little stitches and then took the designs and added my own lettering to personalize. I bought some toweling material and added the baby's nursery theme fabric to the back. It's A Boy and we are decorating with Blue Jean Teddy. Of course I couldn't resist the frogs-grandma knows what those boys do when they get outside, so I used the frogs for a little reminder.

Here is a plain heavyweight T-shirt that I transformed into one of my Grandma shirts. I am very proud of my grandkids and enjoy embroidering shirts to show them off. Primitive Shamrock Annie Wall-Hanging

This pattern is absolutey been a favorite of mine. I fused her on some primitive fabrics and hand sewed all of the edges. Her hair is made with t-shirt material. I quilted her up with some warm and natural batting and then soaked her in my special brew of stain. I used a pattern from Sue Allemands Palette Primitives. What a great idea in place of a traditional picture.

Grandma's raggedy grungy Pillow

Here I am staining some of my creations. I first create my mixture, boil in a saucepan and then pour it into my big roasting pan. I then stir everything up and soak my items for up to an hour. I then wring out the excess and hang to dry. This is were some people bake their items in the oven. I have never done it this way.
